Arianna Ferrari (Italy) studied Contemporary Music in Brescia (It) and Berlin (De), and Sound Arts in London (Uk). She is currently undertaking a research on the relations between humans and machines. The human body in her practice is an instrument and treated as such. She is part of the international network LIMINAL BODIES. She presented her work in Uk, Netherlands, Greece and Italy.
“H-TRANSMITTER”
The performer sits on the floor. In the space a number of transistor radios turned on: their speakers placed on performer’s chest and belly. Attached on performer’s back a number of contact microphones, connected to a loudspeaker. The sound coming from the radios will be transferred on flesh , through the human body, to the loudspeaker. This work aims to practically investigate the balance of power between human and machine.
